2011 Wrap Up & 2012 New Year Resolutions

Well.... what's i've done in year 2011??I'm really blessed in 2011 overall...
Goals set earlier ....
1) Did the CFAL round island biking.
2) Just got another new job in February 2011 with more significant career growth anticipated. Spent lotsa time in work this year...
3) Completed house renovation and have stayed for 6 months.
4) Did more cooking compared to previously, nil.
5) Gym, running & LSD occasionally. But with LSD < 15km :P.
6) Got a smartphone finally.
7) Went for vacation to Krabi regardless of the financial recuperation.
8) Photoshooting with my newly bought speedlight.
What's next in 2012..
1) 2 full marathon & 2 cycling event (1 tri?)
2) 1 vacation trip (to taiwan, hk or australia?)
3) Weekly LSD & biking
4) Career -> towards passion
5) Keyboard arrangement
6) To train Ross to mix around with other doggies. She's soooo timid in front of other doggies, crazily sticked to me....
7) To cure my back & neck pain... sight effect after accident 1.5 years back...

Am i ready for Port Dickson Triathlon 2011?
We have to complete 1.5km swimming, 40km cycling and 10km running in 4 hrs!!
I've tested 1.5km swimming just now.. in 37 min.... but i guess it will be more difficult in the sea.. and myself a bit of sea phobia though....
40km cycling? not sure what is my timing... have not even bought a road bike yet...
10km running... should be able to complete in 1hr 5min..
Meaning that if i use 2hr to finish 40 km cycling... the timing 'du du ho' nia including all the transitions.... isk isk!! may be this time is just for the sake of finishing it.... *_*

I've bought the bike rear carrier..... looks cool huh! But kinda hard for me to install it.... may be bcoz i'm very new to this... Really a fun ride look & style... :P With the iRun cyclists.... cheers!I was trying out Denise's road bike.... it's awesome!!! Thank you so much Eric di di for checking on me from time to time. :)

Yin, Eng & SZ celebrated my pre-birthday at Yin's 'lao tia meh'- hen's nite :P

We had lunch buffet at Golden Sand Resort.... Thank you so much Raymond, Phaik Si and See Fei for the birthday treat... :) They were celebrating my birthday and Lily's one together... Had birthday dinner at Bali Hai.... with family :)
Hardly have i got chance to take photo with my buddy, Audrey..... Thanks to my family for the lovely birthday ice-cream cake :)

My ex-colleagues treated me birthday lunch on 18th-April at Sakae Sushi.... Sharon brought me for seafood dinner when she had 2-week business trip back to penang, and also a nice espirit perfume and nice chocolates from her... i-Run fellas sang me birthday song through phone... etc...I'm really blessed to have my family... friends... my pet.... etc celebrating my birthday for me...

I didn't register for Malakoff Marathon this year. Initially thought just join as a phantom runner, but after that i've decided to become a photographer instead of the runner.... This was my very first of taking the runners' shots... I planned to meet the fella runners at 430a.m. in the youth park. But ended up, i overslept & luckily christine text me at 545a.m. I jumped out from my bed and rushed to gurney drive to see if i can grab some nice shots.... oh boy! i've borrowed the canon 430 speedlite from Billy, but not really know how to use... just hentam aje :P Managed to snap 500++ photos with some at gurney drive & some at finishing line... Sorted out 370 photos to be uploaded onto FB.. Here's the photo of me with the i-Runners team.. looks pro huh :P

CNY 2011

As usual.. had steamboat dinner at my dad's side relatives house... yummy! After the dinner, we went to my grandma's house where we had cigar & wines... we finished a total of 11 bottle of wines.. i guess within 1.5 hrs.. I got a bit dizzy on that nite and having gastric the next day... isk isk!! a bit of hang over as well the next day morning...

On the 1st day of CNY, we went to my grandma house and relative's house to pay new year call.. Had steamboat lunch at my relative house again... In the evening, my couz came and pay a visit. At night, we had our own steamboat dinner at home... after cleaning, it's already 1245a.m.....

On the 2nd day of CNY, i visited kai mui's house... Although she's far far away in germany, but still her dad invited me to her house for a great lunch... sooooo touched!

At nite, we had a family dinner at Ocean Green Restaurant & Seafood. Mess after 'lou sang'... Family photo..

3rd day of cny - Busy cleaning my new condo. Just found out that my tiles' cement was not filled properly. Need to change the tiles again... oh gosh!! Had ji mui gathering at Mei Leng's house in the evening.

4th day of cny - Visited CP's house.

CP & christine went to my condo after the gathering. I visited Hui Yei in the evening and just found out that she got 5-month pregnancy. And it's a bb girl. So happy for her.

Life is just like a road. There are junctions, crossroads, detours, corners, smooth, rocky, long, short etc.There are no guarantees , we have to weigh & decide the best option. Afterall, you just have to trust yourself.. Well, i found out that the more you've grown up, the more decisions you have to make.. whatever personalities, characters etc you have will of course influence your decision... my life is now all about choices... A or B, even renovation you have choose what kind of tiles you want, color painting, curtains, lighting, wardrobe etc.. and how you want your life to be...

I've attended my couz wedding dinner at EQ last nite... it was a grand opening.. whereby my couz started the dinner by leading a solo accompanied by starz band... it was soooo romantic.. and of course followed by a nice & contented speech from him... The food doesn't taste so good, but the band, the cocktail session, the environment and the deco is definitely good.

Well... i went to my couz house for his bachelor's nite on 14th-Jan '11.. and i got stung by a bee while chatting with my relatives... oh boy!! i looked at the bee leaving his needle on my finger.. and i was trying to swing it away.. after the bee flying off, i immediately remove that needle away from my finger.. my finger got swollen immediately after that and my finger was so pain... my relatives were so shocked that i acted so calm.. as if nothing happened.. my brother immediately rushed me to the nearest clinic to get the jabs from the doctor.. just in case of any allergy that might happen....

Had a workshop at Jerejak Island on 13th & 14th Jan '11. It's actually between my department and quality department.. To me, this was a nice trip as we get to have our own time for swimming, gym, gambling, drinking.. as well as some games like the suspension bridge, flying fox, wall climbing, tele-match & treasure hunt ... besides the real workshop activities. I really appreciate that for these few months i was having great bosses and colleagues around... whom they are nice to work with & of course to play with.. :P

2010 Wrap Up & 2011 Resolutions!!!

Well... there's another 1.5hrs before stepping into year 2011...
To me, i've been blessed in year 2010.
1) had a great 3-week europe trip with a great buddy, Christine (with my DSLR camera)
2) even though i had a bad car accident, with 2 months continuous physiotherapy, finally i've recovered from my whiplash injury... although not 100% fully recovered... still i'm blessed...
3) have a new car, honda city
4) have a new great job in RB, with good boss and great colleagues...
5) halfway renovating my newly bought condo
6) had a total of 13 medals in 2010.... with 11 from running, 1 from rowing and 1 from bowling...
7) had business trip to Dong Guan, China & Hong Kong
8) family, great friends & cute/adorable baby ross always be there for me...

So.. what am i looking forward in 2011?
1) biking will be my next target.
2) continue with my physical fitness level. - Plan to join fitness studio as i'm working late recently & may be going forward. - try not to miss the weekly LSD - swim more (freestyle) :P
3) diving trip.
4) more and more business trips.
5) hoping for career growth.
6) selectively joining the running, cycling race.
7) to complete my house renovation.
8) good health. - to fully recover from my whiplash injury etc.
9) i wana cook!

2 full marathons within 2 weeks... This time i did not dare to wear my new asics shoes.. with my old new balance indeed... Touched down the nite before the s'pore marathon.. this time with better timing compared to PBIM 5hr 45min.... vs last year 5 hr 23min... that's the difference between trained and not trained :P... We went for buffet at night... food loading after the exhausted day..

Flew back to penang the next day... kinda rush trip... tired!

Had tele-conference via skype with fella secondary school ji muis... All of us actually from various time zone... US, taiwan, Australia, S'pore & M'sia. Virginia was actually on her way to do some shopping while talking to us.. And Chin Ping was trying to get her mic and searching for the installer.. everyone has actually turned up, expect for pit & cili. Christine dropped off half way due to slow connection. Great that we actually have a way of linking everybody together and get some updates. So, looking forward for our next call.. :) May be we can do it once every 2 months... go go go!!

PBIM 2010 - 21st Nov 2010

This was my 2nd full marathon... well it was my PW as well :P... not really well prepared.. wearing new running shoes, causing blisters and chafe... minor gastric thoughout the run etc :( timing for this run was 6 hr 1 min (42.195km) :P haha. Previous SCSM PB was 5 hr 25min. Collected the goodies bag right in front of Qbay mall few days before the run.. Running cross the starting line with Eng.. with 'victory' hand signal huh! Full marathoners started the race at 2a.m. At around 4a.m., it started raining cats and dogs. walau!! all soaked! Somehow felt like i was naked.. haha.. at that point of time, I was in the middle of the penang bridge on the way back... oh gosh!! hardly open my eyes.. only focus on my steps.. We were under the heavy down pour for more than 3 hours.. My feet were in intense pain. Immediately i took off the shoes when i reached the finishing line, and it was bleeding due to the chafe. Rest awhile inside the QB mall & managed to take group photo with fella i-runners... with my 42.195km finisher-T :) After the event, when i took shower at home, only i realized that i had chafe every where on my body, not only my feet... ouch!!!!

Just wonder, if i manage to recover before my SCSM full marathon next week?

Not forget to perform prayer in the temple on the way for 2nd lunch at Serdang for famous fried porridge..

Business Trip - HK & DG

Had my business trip to HK & DG last month from 17th-Oct 2010. Spent 2 days in HK and another 2 days in DG. Although i stayed at Tsim Tsa Shui in HK, but i didn't manage to shop at all. I can only spent like few hours strolling in front of the promenade.... well.. I managed to watch the lighting show! 超赞! It was so funny to see our names being displayed in front of the supplier's plant... :P

My family got a chance to dine at CRC for my mum's birthday.. We ordered the 'buddha jump over the wall' package... :) yam yam.. Melted birthday ice-cream cake.. :P

Checked on the route and fool around a day before the race... Carbon loading before the race :P

phew.... it's been 2 months i didn't update my blog.. well... busy with trips, runs, new job, reno etc...
kinda happy with the new work nature, new colleagues, new boss, new environment.... but a bit slack in exercising recently... :(

My PBIM full marathon, timing also slack... 6 hrs... foot got blisters, chafe due to my new asics shoes... and got gastric in the middle of the run...

Recently, for 3 months... i hardly log into msn and fb with my laptop.... even in the office, no chance to msn at all... working with only desktop, with lotsa IT restriction... it's like the time when i first started to work... hahaha... 8 years back!!

Yesterday (18th Aug 2010) was my last day in Mot Penang. Well, my total service years are 2.5 years + 5 years in Mot. It's kinda heart-breaking to leave all the great colleagues, friends, histories behind... and move into a new chapter of my career life.. *sob sob* . I guess i controlled quite well by not looking into everybody's eyes for more than 1 second yesterday. Well, this is the plant which i'm leaving... Mot technoplex at batu maung... My lunch gang brought me for farewell lunch on 12th-Aug '10 at Daorae Korean BBQ @ Bayan Point. They were Teng Teng, Billy, SP Lim, Mei Wan, Suek Le, Siau Fung, Pei Hoon & Wei Ling. Thank you so much buddies! Arrrggk... forgot to snap group photo..

My boss, WK Lim and some other colleagues (Yammy, Siew Hooi, Fionne, Kim, ES Loh, HH Chew, YH Tan, Yau and Aw Yeong)treated me farewell lunch at siriwan on 13th-Aug '10. I'm so pleased when my boss mentioned that my resignation will be a loss to Mot. :P Had a great karaoke farewell buffet dinner with whole bunch of great friends. I sang until i lost my voice.

Had a great lunch with Fah & Sook Chin on 16th-Aug '10 at Kim Gary. Also had a farewell lunch with Rou on 17th-Aug '10 at Old Town.

On 18th-Aug '10 morning, i sent out goodbye email to almost 300 people, which includes all the colleagues & suppliers. And i went for lunch with my lunch gang (Shennon, SP, Billy, Teng Teng, Pei Hoon, TTT's new colleague) at sunshine square as usual for the very last/final time under the employment of Mot.

My scheduler, SH Tan gave a perfume as a farewell gift. And i have a feeling of satisfaction when my subordinates really appreciate whatever that i've done for them. She told me that i'm a good boss who is very understanding and listen to them with patience. Sounds like a compliment huh!

My tech, Hani & sche Nora gave a ship model as a gift. It's really awesome!I love it so much. Gona bring this to my condo as a deco. They told me that i'm the best boss. :) When you are about to leave a company, and alot of compliments pour onto you. The feeling is like whatever that you have done, given, dedicated & fight for worth x1000 the effort.

Well, after returning the laptop, badges & cards, i walked around sourcing, production and finance office to bid farewell. I guess there were few moments when i almost wana cry out. After finished saying goodbye to all, i drove out from Mot, my feeling was so gloomy, down & sad.... :(

Well, i got an email from my US counterpart.. and he attached the photo of us 5 years ago... OMG!! i've changed a lot!! Photo taken with Joshua 5 years ago when i was in Schaumburg...
And my recent photo during the europe backpack tour.. :) Well... do not fear of changes!! :) i can't wait for my new job!!

We had ipoh 'makanthon' and marathon last weekend.. It was a great trip! We had 8 meals on Sat... Enough of carbo loading..
No.1 - Had some snacks at toll. No.2 - Had hakka mee at Paris

it was so dramatic today... after i told my schedulers about my resignation...
well... their eyes turned red... and started to shed the tears....
they said i'm a good boss... and very hard for them to get another boss as good as me wor...
after all these years, i guess this is definitely a compliment to me.....
to me, i was just doing my very best to guide them, to back them up if any issue rises, fight for them on some employee welfare / promotion, get my own pocket money to treat them good meal every year end, try to balance up between friendship and as a boss, etc...

well... after 5 years in Mot.... it's time for me to move on to the next stage of my career...
i can say it's actually towards my passion - travelling, dealing with people, more $$ :P, job exploration, etc... and it's kinda sad to leave all the friends behind after 5 years... some even more than 8 years who i was having lunch with.. & some true friends of mine although we spent just a short period of time together, some crush... and you guys/gals know exactly who i'm gona miss la.... *sob sob* i love u guys/gals.. muaks!
2005 - joined mot & went to US Sch for a look-see trip
2006 - went to texas & singapore a couple of times for product transfer
2007 - moved into operations & working holiday in NZ
2008 - the group started to shrink... bz with outdoor activities like diving, dragon boat..
2009 - the group still shrinking.... the headcount is shrinking.... and i've gota handle everything myself... bz with marathon oso...
2010 - europe trip... finally got jobs opportunity external... decided to resign..
